AMARA CAY

Amara Cay Resort, Islamorada, Florida

THE TEAM:

Edge of Architecture, Coral Gables, Florida

THE MUSE: Amara Cay is a tropical sanctuary bathed in harmonious tones, featuring whimsical furniture and fixtures that add a touch of visual delight. As you approach the reception desk, a feature wall catches the eye, adorned with brass nails and cotton strings carefully threaded to create signage. This unique installation sets the tone for an engaging and lighthearted experience throughout.

THE MAGIC: Incorporating polished yet natural elements, such as stripped cedar trunks beside a glass wall and site-collected palm fronds in brass vases, gives rise to a playful atmosphere that dances with interplays of light and shadow, seamlessly blending the rustic with the polished.

THE MAVERICK MOVE: The dining area, made up of natural materials, textures, and neutral tones, is divided by a hand crafted and woven together screen made of wood branches. The pops of color are found through tropical hues, plants, and artwork.
